ACQUA Klinik attaches considerable importance to our surgical teams’ above-average performance in the surgical cockpit, in the anaesthesiology cockpit and in the booths. Because as fascinating and reliable as our technology may be, the human factor is the most important and at the same time most variable component in our company. ACQUA Klinik operates a training concept unlike anything else in the world. Specialist doctors first undergo specialized ACQUA certification, involving at least 18 months as co-surgeon. After gradual approval to perform operations autonomously, surgeons are required to perform standard and exceptional procedures in our operating theatre simulator up to four times each year. Certificates permitting them to perform an operation are only valid for 24 months and must then be completed again from scratch. Regular performance parameter evaluations and a non-punitive, anonymous system for reporting near misses have resulted in a novel approach to dealing with errors – an approach we at ACQUA Klinik are particularly proud of.
